Seismic Changes

Caught in the Crossfire examines the impact of 50 years of seismic cultural changes on pastoral ministry. Over this time period, clergy have become lightening rods between a post-Christian culture and an inwardly focused church.

This website’s purpose is to provide inspiration, education and resources to assist clergy to function better in the midst of the above realities. Specifically, it is our goals, to:

Help clergy understand the effects of cultural changes on pastoral ministry.
Examine the crisis created by these changes.
Explore what it means to be healthy in ministry.
Evaluate strategies for transformational ministry.

The four fold methodology of the website will include video interviews on the above issues, an interactive blog promoting discussion, reflections on these subjects by clergy and a series of links to pastoral resources that address the concerns raised in the documentary.

Help us Help You

One of the goals of this website is to serve the pastor in his or her work. Not in the sense of providing sermon or programmatic resources and ideas (there are plenty other websites who offer help in those areas), but to provide a place that focuses on the pastor as person.

Crossfire path will three times each week provide a short devotional focused on how to be physically, spiritually, emotionally healthy in the midst of the challaanges of ministry..

Crossfire Clips will feature weekly video clips from interviews that deal with the challenges of pastoral ministry in a post-Christian culture.

Crossfire Blog will feature an interactive blog from Bob Hager, Producer/Director of "Caught in thre Crossfire" inviting others to respond by offering their comments and questions raised by the blog.

Crossfire Links will offer links to resources that serve the personal needs of the pastor.

Suggestions

This website invites you to offer suggestions on how we can better serve the pastor as person. For example, would it be helpful to offer book reviews of publications on our topic? Would like the site to move beyond the blog and offer a community forum on pastor related issues. If you have any suggestions or criticisms on improving this site, send them to bob@clergyculture.com .
